Enjoy sights of some of the biggest animals that wander the face of Earth with a visit to Giraffe Centre in Nairobi. Run by the African Fund for Endangered Wildlife (AFEW), the centre main objective is to secure the imperiled Rothschild giraffe, Giraffa camelopardalis rothschildi, which is found to roam about in free and protected captivity around the meadows of East Africa. Over the years the programme has had tremendous victory, bringing about the presentation of a few reproducing varieties of Rothschild Giraffe into Kenyan national parks. There are also various other animals around, including a number of tame warthogs, and a wooded 95-acre (40-hectare) nature sanctuary across the road, which is a good area for birdwatching.
The Entry Fee is USD 15 per person or approximately Ksh 1,500 per person in Kenya shillings. Visiting timings are 9 am to 5pm daily. Our Driver-Guide collects you from your hotel at 9.30am for transfer to Giraffe Centre. Spend an about an hour or two watching and interacting with the Giraffe here. { You may touch, feed and even kiss these gentle animals }. Visitors are free to watch closely and take photos. At 12pm we will transfer you back to your hotel on wards to your preferred drop off location.
The Giraffe Centre is open daily for visitors from 9am to 5pm. However, School Groups visiting will be required to make two weeks prior booking for visits. They will be booked in for their preferred days where possible and only between 9.00 am to 12.00 pm.
