Flights to Masai Mara

Flying to Masai Mara is a quicker alternative to heading out by road, saving anything from 4 to 5 hours on the road trip, though less if you include transfer and waiting time at the airport. Flights take off and land at the domestic Wilson airport, located on Langata road, though certain limited flights may be booked from the international JKIA airport in Nairobi. Traditionally there have been 2 main airlines offering domestic flights connecting Masai Mara and other tourist locations with flights from Nairobi, and these are Air Kenya and Safarilink. There are now additional airlines and a reliable one among the newer services is Governors Aviation which also operates from Wilson airport.

Schedule of Flights

Typically all the main airlines offer a morning and afternoon flight, with the same plane returning back to Wilson after every set of flights. The flying time is usually an hour though actual time depends on how many interim stops the flight will make, ( known as ''hops'') as they land to drop or pick up passemgers from various airstrips. Most flights limit stops to the fewest possible so the timing of an hour to the Mara is practially fairly accurate. See the schedule below.
