masai mara safaris

A safari in Masai Mara is arguably the best wildlife watching experience in the world, and this is not an over statement. The reserve is home to some of the most diverse collection of animals, not just the 'Big Five' but also the 'Big Nine' most of which can be seen during a Masai Mara Safari. Though the wildbeest migration season from July to September is the highlight of the year, a Masai Mara safari is a rewarding experience. We are listing several Masai Mara packages below which range from budget Road trips to luxury Fly-In Safaris to boutique Tented Camps.

Road safaris

By far the most popular mode of getting to Masai Mara is to book a road Safari trip, typically starting and ending in Nairobi, with the choice of vehicles being a 4x4 Landcruiser Safari Jeep or the less costly Safari Minibus or Tour Van. The trip from Nairobi to Masai Mara takes anything from 5 to 7 hours depending on which camp or lodge has been booked for your stay. The benefit of a safari by road is the generally lower cost as well as getting the chance to see and experience more of the real Kenyan countryside. The downside is that stretches of road on the route are in below average condition.
